The ability to transmit live and recorded video images using wireless technology
has transformed the way CCTV Cameras are installed and used in todays
fast moving environment.
Wireless camera networks now offer a CCTV solution for
many situations where, in the past, an installation would not have been
cost effective. Networks as small as two cameras can be installed for a fraction
of the price of hardwired systems.
Rapid Vision systems specialises in providing small to medium sized wireless
camera networks. Typical installations range from 2 to 16 cameras, but larger systems are available on request.
Villages & Small Communities
This image shows a typical Wireless Camera Network covering the main
problem areas which occur in villages and small communities throughout the
country.
- Wireless Cameras installed on Lamp Columns or walls transmit video images back
to a Receiving & Recording station using a secure WiFi connection.
- The Receiving & Recording Station is located inside the Village Hall where full
control of the system is available and a Digital Video Recorder stores images from all cameras 24/7.
- An optional Broadband Internet line or wireless 3G connection enables authorised
persons to view events live and control all cameras remotely from a Police Station or other
location.
- Officers can also download recorded images from the remote location
In the event that a suitable building is not available, our compact Receiving &
Recording station can be fitted into a robust waterproof box which can be sited on a lamp Column or outside wall.
Evidence can
then be retrieved locally using a WiFi connection. An optional 3G connection is
also available to enable viewing or downloading from a Police Station or Council
Office.
Retail Stores with Car Parks
In any large retail environment there is the potential for many types of
criminal activity which may not be detected by security staff using traditional
CCTV installations.
Hardwired Cameras tend to be confined to the structure of the main store to
allow cables to be run back to the security office. This often leads to blind
spots where offenders can commit crimes without being seen.

Yard and the Garden Centre.
- Internal Wireless Cameras can also be connected to the system to cover problem areas
inside the store. These cameras can be Overt or Covert.
- The Receiving & Recording Station is located inside the main building where a Digital Video Recorder stores images from all cameras 24/7.
- Pan, Tilt and Zoom functions are remotely controlled by staff inside the Main
Building or from a remote location.
- Wireless Cameras can also be integrated into existing CCTV systems as required.
Construction Sites & Other Developments
Construction Sites offer many opportunities for theft or criminal
damage. The nature of these sites is such that it is very difficult for Security
Guards to detect offences without the use of CCTV Cameras.
In the past, the requirement to re-locate cameras every few weeks as
construction progressed proved to be prohibitively expensive. This meant that
sites were generally not covered by CCTV or were covered in only limited areas.
- This image shows a wireless camera network covering the main offices, a remote
storage area and the construction area.
- Cameras are installed with built in Infrared Illumination to view areas where no
lighting is available.
- The Receiving & Recording Station is located inside the Site Office where a Digital Video Recorder stores images from all cameras 24/7.
- Pan, Tilt and Zoom functions are remotely controlled by staff inside the Site
Office.
- A Broadband Internet line or wireless 3G connection enables authorised persons
to view the cameras from a remote location, such as the Head Office.
Rapid Vision Systems offers a full re-location service for cameras which need to
be moved as construction progresses.
The above examples show the versatility and flexibility of our Wireless Cameras
Networks. If you have a requirement which is not covered, please feel free to
